Institute for Adolescent Mental Health and Well-Being

Advancing Adolescent Mental Health Through Research and Innovation

Dedicated to promoting healthy minds and flourishing in emerging adults.

The concept of well-being includes the ability to manage stress, maintain fulfilling relationships, experience positive emotions, and find meaning and purpose in life. It encompasses both the absence of mental illness and the presence of positive psychological functioning. Our focus on well-being guides our efforts to improve the experience of navigating college and the transition to adulthood for all young people, from those thriving to those facing significant challenges.

Welcome

The Institute brings together more than 50 faculty fellows, affiliated faculty, and a team of dedicated staff, supporting graduate and postdoctoral trainees across disciplines to understand and intervene in the challenges faced by adolescents during the transition to young adulthood. Working in partnership with student affairs and global thought leaders, it translates research into real-world action by developing initiatives and innovative interventions, hosting events and summits, and contributing to policy discussions that strengthen mental health and well-being on campus and beyond.
