Institute affiliate Mesmin Destin receives Diversity Science Award from the Society of Experimental Social Psychology.
The Diversity Science Award recognizes early to mid-career researchers who have made substantial, innovative, and sustained contributions to advancing the social psychology of diversity.
The Society of Experimental Social Psychology (SESP) is an international scientific organization dedicated to the advancement of social psychological research. The Diversity Science Award honors Prof. Destin’s years of research exploring how socioeconomic environments shape young people's cognition, motivation, and perceptions of opportunity. His research combines laboratory and field experiments to explore these dynamics across diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. Prof. Destin was recently appointed as the new faculty director of student access and enrichment at Northwestern.
