Almaz Mesghina

Professor Mesghina’s research focuses on the experiences of stress and anxiety in the learning contexts of late adolescents and early adults.She is interested in understanding the cognitive mechanisms that underlie math anxiety, statistics anxiety, and more generally, choking under pressure in the STEM classroom. With these cognitive mechanisms in mind, she tests instructional interventions and emotion regulation interventions to help promote learning and engagement despite high levels of anxiety.
