Sarah Pila-Leiderman

Sarah Pila-Leiderman is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Social Sciences at the Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Pila’s research focuses on promoting the well-being of youth of all ages, with particular attention to the social, emotional, and contextual factors that shape health and development during these critical life stages (specifically media and technology). Her work is informed by a developmental and equity-oriented perspective and aims to advance knowledge that can support more responsive, inclusive, and effective approaches to improving youth and young adult outcomes across diverse populations.

As an interdisciplinary scholar embedded in a medical school environment, Dr. Pila collaborates with researchers and clinicians across behavioral science, public health, and healthcare settings to translate research findings into practice. Her scholarship contributes to a growing body of work dedicated to understanding how systems, relationships, and environments influence well-being during adolescence and the transition to adulthood.
