
Dr. Alexandra (Alex) Psihogios is an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Medical Social Sciences and Pediatrics at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine, where she is also a licensed clinical psychologist, Co-Chair of the Adolescent/Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Research Committee, and a full member of the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center. Her career reflects a longstanding commitment to improving care for AYAs with cancer—work that began during her clinical training and continues today through a research program focused on patient-centered digital health interventions. She leads NIH- and foundation-funded studies that integrate human-centered design, community engagement, and implementation science to develop digital health tools that are engaging, accessible, and sustainable in real-world settings. Much of her work addresses oral chemotherapy adherence in AYAs with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, including mobile and social media–based tools co-developed with patients and cancer “social media influencers”.
