Dr. Maimaran joined the Marketing Department at the Kellogg School of Management in 2008 after completing her Ph.D. in Marketing at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Her research centers on judgment and decision-making in young populations—especially how children form preferences, respond to messaging, interact with social media, and make choices that impact their health and well-being. Dr. Maimaran was named a Fellow in the Inaugural Research Collaborative of the Alliance for Decision Education, where she worked alongside other experts to translate insights from decision science into classroom and community interventions. Her work appears in top journals, including the Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Consumer Research, and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes. Her 2024 JMR article, “Using Price Promotions to Drive Children’s Healthy Choices in a Developing Economy,” received the Paul E. Green/Vithala R. Rao Award, which honors the best JMR article published in within the last year.
